April 27, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Latest reports from South Sudan’s oil rich Unity State confirmed that a major battle broke out on Monday morning near the state capital, Bentiu, and also in the oil fields.

According to the office of Military Spokesman of SPLA in Opposition, fighting resumed at Guit military post at 7:00Am on Monday morning, and is still continuing.

The opposition accused the government troops of having attacked their positions in Nhialdiu and Guit this morning.

“This is to inform the entire public in South Sudan and the world at large that government forces have launched an attack on our position this morning around 7:00 AM from the Unity state capital Bentiu.” said Dickson Gatluak of SPLA-IO.

“At 7:00Am this morning, The government troops came out in two directions, one group went straight to Nhial-Diu payam South West of Bentiu where our military base is located and the other one went to Guit county southern part of state.” Mr. Gatluak continued.

Other battles around the oil fields began at 8:30am, according to Military sources of SPLA [IO].

The opposition claimed that they have repulsed the government troops and pursued them upto Bentiu where the battle intensified this afternoon.

Gatluak said that their forces are determined to flush out the government troops from the Capital, Bentiu; adding that the government is using the town as a strategic launching pad on their positions.

“Since the government is using Bentiu as its strategic area for military offensive against our forces around. We would make sure that they are smoke out of the town before they make more military assault on us.” Gatluak said.

Latest reports from Juba confirms that Brig. Gen. Kerbino Ruai Top, who commanded the government troops, has been wounded on both legs.

According to reliable reports from Juba, the general remains in a very critical condition at Juba Medical Complex.

Brig. Ruai Top,who was deployed to division 3 in Aweil, was reinforcing a government troops led by Gen. Thayib Gatluak, and an allied militia commander, Mathew Puljang.

The SPLA General headquarters in Juba has confirmed the heavy fighting in Bentiu, however,  accused the rebels for initiating the attacks on their positions.

Details on the number of casualties and other loses are yet to be confirmed.

      Dear Readers and Reporters

This war Is not going to stop unless Dr . Riek is defeated as usual. Riek is looser and visionless…amongst our people Peace will not come from Addis Ababa but from our communities of Dinka, Nuer and othet minorities group.

Riek Machar left SPLM/A in 1991 and he stayed in Khartoum for 11 years when Dr Garang was fighting in the bush . Dr Garang negotiated the birth of South Sudan at  Naivasha in Kenya . The birth of South Sudan was a result of 6 protocols. Which protocols did Riek sign? Riek is not  a signatory to any protocols that give birth to South Sudan .

Riek is a traitor in the history of South Sudan and Garang is  hero with confident . So attributing the independence of South Sudan to Riek is stealing of Medal of Honour from Martyr  Dr Garang and conferred to foul player Riek Machar .

GatNor,-Cieth, which democracy do you means when you were in Khartoum fighting SPLA, ,,,, you as Nuers ,you had killed 50% of SPLA soldier during liberation war to make Arab happy to give you money and you were given money. Now want to steal Dinka leaders good history ,as Nuers leaders always have no good history of war , because of your random violent , and be rewards, this time no reward to Reik, we will see him like dog , and already Nuer seen like wild dog in South Sudan , as their name Nuer means spoil community.

Is that your way of seeking peaceful solution to the conflict.. well than you would have to take it up with tribal leaders if that is your tone. Make it quick don’t pretend this is a South Sudan’s national issue because your tone clearly is tribal.

My message to all the cowards Jur is that Deng is saying this is a Nuer and Jaang conflict so be warned and stay out of it. Deng and his tribe men has already committed several massacres as the world is well aware of the Dec/2013. Deng you are a foolish thug, bring it but tell your Ugandan and your N-sudan Jur to stay out of the conflict and we will see how long and stiff your tail is.

Are you playing devil advocate? How can Dr. Riek Machar who fought for Self-determination be visionless. Please refresh your mind. You are talking to many people who follow politics in South Sudan closely since you were not born.

The victories against the looters of our God given natural resources is indeed very certain.

God is on our side and may God bless Dr. Machar and the Freedom fighters in this Salva Kiir and Museveni imposed war on us.

Nuer rebel are trying to own south sudan land but they will achieve nothing in theirs planing to whole Upper Nile Regions are to be defeated by SPLA forces. Riek is under critical condition in the hospital but let us all pray for Riek sickness to go beyond otherwise resulted to death

  5. April 27, 2015 at 9:21 pm

I think this time for both sides to stop fighting and give the peace chance to healing. Outsider have the hands to blamed but let us not be driven by them. Let Churches people and civilians tried peace and it will success. These people dying every day are not Riek Machar’s family nor Salva Kiir’s children but they are all Southern Sudanese citizens.

You are really confused because one minute you cowards make the issue a national issue which is a civil war and the next minute you say its a Nuer rebellion and you also want to talk peace at both expense of the narratives. Make up your minds and go with one narrative because either way you have already affected the Nuers nationally and tribally and you will readily find someone who will response to you against you one way or the other in both camps of tribal and national groupings. It seems to me that your frustration stems from your own confused objective. The Nuers have already bravely managed to fend you off as the terrorist you are sponsored by the state of South Sudan and as a tribe manipulated to act by the Jaang elders. Either way you have failed because the issue now is in the hands of 63+ nationalities of South Sudanese to solve. You might have been successful in executing the massacres and dragging the country into the civil war but you have lost the war and the main objective which is tribal domination. You perfectly managed in helping open the windows of rewriting history of Sudan and to be quite frank it will not be a one sided tale like had happened through the 21+ liberation war of spla/m.

Those Nuers fighting your aimless armed rebellion are fighting a just cause, but your Riek Machar? As always is fighting a losing game. Once a traitor remains a traitor and that is how Riek Machar will always be. Mind you, Riek Machar has killed a lot of Nuers just like the Dinkas he had killed for his incessant quest for power, but which he will never smell in South Sudan as we know it.

Any another Nuer apart from Riek Machar sociopath would be a president of South Sudan and the South Sudanese people would gladly work with that Nuer who would be president of South Sudan, but Riek Machar? Nada!

Riek Machar is a divisive politician and South Sudanese people want a none divisive, but a unionist leader that will not make our people be at each others throats every time he wants leadership of South Sudan.

Any Nuer who would be elected as president of South Sudan, would be elected with the backing of the Dinkas, it is a plain truth. And it will be the same to any other South Sudanese.that would be president of South Sudan. The rule of majority applies and we all know what that rule is.

Go to the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, Germany and several other countries; the majority rule the masses, minorities are not left out however.

But in South Sudan though, our young generation should look for whoever we would deem fit to rule us and is not going to be dividing us, but to unite us and that person would be from any minority tribe. But not necessarily be from the Dinka, the Nuer, the Azandi, the Shilluk etc. Minorities tribes as the best leaders in our country these days anyway.

President Salva Kiir is not 100% supported by the Dinkas, South Sudanese people don’t want a precedent to be set in South Sudan, that when the elected president failed to meet the South Sudanese people expectations, then the best way to get him/her out of power would be coups. But to rather wait until his/her term ends and then elected somebody else we trust—-that is how it is done in other countries.

Even in our Nilotic plains’ cattle camps, the elected camps leaders are always voted out through the show of hands when they have fall-out with their their cattle camps’ subjects. It has been that way in our Nilotic plains, since we can remember. The Dinkas know it, the Nuers know it—-and that is what is called democracy.

In our Nilotic plains, we are known for our egalitarian ways of doing things, but our leaders have 8derailed* from our ancestors ways of doing things—–our leaders have imported and taken greed, something that was alien to our people in our Nilotic plains.

Well, we are not an island in our Nilotic plains though, but a part of the wider world, but we must be selected to import what we deem would be good to our country and our people and to discard what we think isn’t going to be helpful to our country and people—–that is how other people do it in their countries.

Man you talking like woman, you make yourself a better Dinka or Dint. I don’t know what you call yourself. let me tell this brothers we don’t want to talking about our difference. We want to find the way to live in pace. but your brother Salva Kiir was make a biggest mistake. He is a kids killer, this is Dinka majority who killing a children. let me tell brother when Abril Aler became a chairman of the government South Sudan that was time Dinkas making themselves a majority, but they lie. South Sudan Paplation was never count correctly. That why the Dinka making themselves a majority. I am sorry this is not the time you can lie to South Sudanese people, because this generation tell the truth but Dinkas continue to telling a lie. Also you are talking like you throats people. When talk about death of Dr Machar I know you don’t because he is a only person who knew Dinka are lire. Dr Machar will be one the bring you a freedom, because you Dinkas already failed. Dinkas cannot rule the 64 tribes in South Sudan. because they like themselves. who like Dinkas in South Sudan know body them even though majority of Dinkas don’t like what others Dinkas do. That Juba like company call Tyson. You no what I mean, the Tyson is a company who kill cows. that is what Dinka do in juba, people died everyday Dinkas killing South Sudan. this is people who called themseif a best leaders the. shame on you. remember those who support Salva kiir we give them name Nuer wew.

Nuer are fighting Nuer while Dinka who started this war are busy looting Dollars for scape root. What a mighty tribe (Nuer) who can challenge them if all are united? Look how Padang were heavy defeated by Shiluk in Malakal? Agumut and Abuchook, where are Dinka whom you were claiming to rebel if IO win?

Now as death grabs our true sons from both sides what is the benefit.?Think twice, in order to mitigate this crisis, peace is the only viable solution and stop inflaming war by encouraging innocent soldiers to fight for your seat.I know some commentators will say that, iam retreating the social media front, but all those dying from both side are S.Sudanese period.

the war is only solution as it was instigated on us by Dinkacracy regime as meant to intimidate us,so that they continue implementing the Dinkacracy rules in South Sudan for more hundreds years.let the fighting continue until Kiir is out of the seat

    Ater and Mawien

We all need peace in our country, but what does the opposition do when the government keep attacking them? Please preach that peace message to Kiir and Malong as they seem to be the only obstacles to peace in our nation. For example the collapse of last peace talks was due to Kiir’s walk out of peace venue.
Peace will only be attain once all sides are committed to it and the way I see it the government is counting on military solution.

It is well noted that you want war to continue, and it will be served on your plate,be ready to chew it. We can wipe off all the Nuerfolkes in order to cleanse the land of upper Nile region.Riek has shown all the Nuer character,it means they are no useful under this cloud, wait and see.

  13. April 28, 2015 at 3:27 am

It is perfectly true that the Dinka of Warrap using brute force and that it is possible for us to do likewise, but by using similar means we can get only the same thing that they got…………. {It is like} saying we can get a rose through planting a noxious weed…….. We reap exactly as we sow [f]air means alone can produce fair results……..,, Kirr must go…

Who prevented you from erasing the Nuer from Greater Upper Nile?
Don’t tell me that Malong and Kiir have mercy as they planned this war from the start. The war is entering into second year now so don’t pretend that we are at peace. Fighting Nuer is not like looting oil end up with a bloody nose. Keep paying the mercenaries to keep you in power though you won’t last long in that seat.
