Australia: Declaration To Join SPLM In Opposition

“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality,” so said Dante Alighieri.

Sept 24, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — It has been almost a year since conflict started in South Sudan. A year of suffering, that has been wasted in senseless war and unspeakable carnage forced on our people by Kiir’s crippled and tyrannical clique. The concoction of coup by Kiir, later proven to be a false cry to purge opponents, has brought immeasurable suffering upon our people: several people are displaced and at risk of famine. Several mothers are trapped in camps and spend nights standing in knee-deep wastewater as they cuddle their infants in motherly love. Children and elderly are dying unnecessarily as the unwarranted war claims lives and decimate the future of our nation. The continuation of suffering shows Kiir’s desire to entrench tyranny if unabated, and goes to prove one man’s epic greed to keep power at any cost.

The erstwhile nine months have been an extreme struggle between remaining neutral and understanding what propelled this conflict into being, observing the negotiations of warring parties presently mediated by IGAD, their demands or proposals for ending this conflict, as well as how to make South Sudan a better place for all who call it home.

As the immeasurable suffering from the violence is a result of Kiir’s failure, the choice about the way forward becomes obvious: you either join the SPLM/A-IO movement to help pave way to an inclusive, prosperous South Sudan, or you remain with the crippled tyrannical government of Salva Kiir that is holding back our nation’s prosperity. Instead of fair competition and dialogue, Kiir chose to unleash violence. Instead of internal dialogue or citizen consensus, Kiir recruited foreigners to exterminate fellow citizens.

I came to an absolute and an intellectual conclusion that the government which uses the most dangerous weapons in its arsenals to maim and kill its unarmed civilians shall not be permitted to enjoy support from the very citizens it tyrannizes. I hurl my absolute support to SPLM/A In Opposition as I am convinced by their current position on negotiations in Addis Ababa: SPLM/A-IO is negotiating for a better way to bring everlasting peace, restore our pride and make South Sudan a place for us all to call home.

In my assessment of current conflict, I came to know that Mr Salva Kiir initiated it without legitimate reasons for it, particularly when options for peaceful settlement had not been exhausted. Simply, Kiir and his inner circle manufactured it to eliminate political opponents. Kiir sought to divide and rule by giving a false picture to the conflict. However, he should be reminded that calling a chicken an eagle does not make it one. All evidences subsequently indicated there was no coup, a finding cemented by acquittal of political detainees by the country’s court.

Now, it is a matter of moral decency to continue to believe in coup fabrication that is sinking South Sudan into abyss, or stand with the people and the SPLM/A-IO movement to end tyranny and seek betterment of our beloved nation.

The above decision was taken after an extreme study and contemplation of the current conflict that is engulfing South Sudan, the nation we are all proud of and a nation we call home. I personally refuse to remain neutral or support Mr Salva Kiir just because he is a Dinka and we happen to be from Warrap State. We must support ideas that a leader stands for, not their place of origin. It surely would be an insanity to refuse to be treated by an excellent doctor who could alleviate the illness you suffer, just because he happens to be from a different tribe, state or region. Hence, it is an absolute madness to refuse a better leadership just because of one’s tribal, state and regional affiliation.

In contrast to Kiir and his clique, SPLM/A In Opposition has the courage to continue the long journey of making South Sudan a better home for our resilient and proud people, a better country to call a neighbour and a better country to invest in.

I conclude with one of the greatest quotes of Winston Churchill: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.”

Liberation must continue!

Mr. Adhar A Chol thank you a million times for being very constructive in your analysis of South Sudan’s myriad problems created by SPLM/A leadership.Salva Kirr must have erred and manufactured non existent COUP.Kirr is a Killer BUT we need to analyse the other side of coin as well.Genuine literature has been by people of Nilotic origin on:Freedom, tolerance, diginity, and impartiality. However, removing Kirr from POWER without massive education of all the minority tribes of South Sudan willnot add value to the well earned FREEDOM.Currently, only two tribes that is DINKA and NUER enjoy maximum support which was rendered to them before the conflict in Australia,Canada,USA,Uganda,Kenya and Egypt just to mention afew Countries.
