Feb 18, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) — The leadership of SPLM/SPLA in Opposition urges their sympathizers and general public to remain calm, and not be destructed by the recent defection of their former Military Spokesman, Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang.
“The SPLM/SPLA National Committee for Information and Public Relations would like to take this opportunity to inform its members of the desertion of Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang.” Said Mabior Garang de Mabior, the Chairperson of National Committee for Information and Public Relations.
According to Mabior, Lul’s defection is an isolated case that should be ignored given that it happened in his hotel room in the neighboring Kenya, compared to a defection on the battle field.
“The Movement assures members that this desertion is an isolated incident that occurred in a Nairobi Hotel, and does not have any bearing on the military or political situation in the country.” Mabior said.
According to Mabior, SPLM/SPLA is a national movement that has the capacity to accommodate all South Sudanese but also has rooms to allow individuals to operate on their own, should they opt to.
“The SPLM/SPLA is a national Movement that belongs to all the people of South Sudan, and shall not tolerate the principal of sectarianism.” Capt. Mabior said.
“The SPLM/SPLA also recognizes the right of any member who does not share in the principles of the Movement, to set up their own political entity that will reflect the principles for which they stand.” Mabior continues.
The SPLM/SPLA-IO wishes their former spokesman the best of luck in his endeavors.
“In this spirit the SPLM/SPLA would like to wish Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang good luck in his new political exploits.” Mabior reiterates.
The Opposition reassures their supporters to not be swayed by Lul’s decision, but instead focus on IGAD led mediation and Intra-party peace process as the possible means to resolve the conflict.
“The SPLM/SPLA National Committee for Information and Public Relations would like to reassure members that this is an isolated incident that is of no consequence to the political or military situation in the country.” Mabior said.
“This incident should not divert the attention of members from the ongoing peace process in Addis Ababa and Arusha within which lies the comprehensive solution to the current conflict in the country.” The report concludes.

you have got it wrong and you will never get it right, I don’t think this is an isolated incident Mr Mabior Garang there is no misleading there of defection of BRIG- General Lul Ruai. If you still having dream that SPLA/SPLM still Gerang’s family property that is a bad dream, SALVA KIIR IS A GOOD GUY, led to freedom . Intellectuals and elders within Nuer communities are doing their best to end this unacceptable war.

Eat and deny,i think Mabior and his sister need to go and say with CONGOLESE because he and his sister never like South Sudanese. Congolese themselves are also our people because there are Zanda / Azende in both countries.
