Feb 26, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Why I decided to run? Well, one of my unknown to South Sudanese politics Jodi Picoult once writes “I woke up one morning thinking about wolves and realized that wolf packs function as families” she said. Everyone has a role, she emphasizes while talking about family and “if you act within the parameters of your role, the whole pack succeeds, and when that falls apart, so does the pack” Jodi Picoult
Friends, colleagues and family members, today, I have decided that I will run for the commissionership of Nyirol East County. I am running because I am convinced that South Sudanese communities and particularly the Nuer community are in perilous course and because I have such a strong feeling about what I should do. I feel that I’m obliged to do what I must do and all I can.
First, the reason why I am running is because I have a sense of what had happened to the Nuer people, I have a good understanding as to why it happened and I have an action that I will take to help our people. My political ambition set a stage for me to see thing clearly
Friends, colleagues, and family members, I am run because my community has been wrong. I am running because my country has been robbed. I am running because no other generation but my generation to turn this situation around. I am running because it is now unmistakably clear that we can change these disastrous.
My appeal to all Nuer people to support me
The second reason why I am running is clear; I am running because I want to maintain the unity of the Nuer and the justice for our people who were killed and those who still at the UNIMISS Camps across South Sudan. My dear brothers and sisters, I cannot stand aside from the contest that will turns the page and eventually decide our community’s future and our children’s future. From that stand point, the bigger picture for me to enter to this political arena is because I have what I envision for the entire greater Nuer community and the greater Upper Nile region which have been devastated by this current war.
I am therefore appealing for your support for I am not only running for Nyirol East County but to achieve the goal of commissioner’s forum that I will created create more unity among the Nuer people. The reasons why I think it is important and the purpose of creating the commissioner’s leadership forum is to:
- To bring all commissioners together and addresses the current humanitarians situation immediately
- To Help the Chairman Dr. Riek Machar, the C in C of SPLA from the grassroots level about the Federal system that he is initiating and what it meant for our people.
- To preach what the constitutional democracy meant in a way that will be understood by all
- To discuss topics such as current events, and how to reach out to all Nuer people around the world.
- Socializing- formal connection with all Nuer intellectuals through community based organizations
- Planning and organizing community groups, religious groups, arts groups to work together with the common purposes.
- Teambuilding – strengthening group relationships with the Nuer community.
- Information sharing- a place to share ideas and how to lift up the entire Nuer community.
What I will do
First, if elected, I will immediately start a consultation with all Counties commissioners to form a commissioner’s leadership forum across the Nuer Lands from East to West to achieve the above outlined. This is because my fight has never been about one Particular County. My fight has been about all and we want to make sure that we lift up the entire Nuer community and make sure that the unity is strong to service the people of South Sudan and to grand affirmative action to where is due.
If elected, I will immediately encourage all commissioners to form a committee within the commissioners of the greatest Nuer areas to immediately consult with the Nuer leadership of the Nuer communities world-wide. This committee will come up with the solution of smooth communication in order to make sure that all commissioners are working together to support the movement through communities.
Second, I will take humanitarians issues seriously and work with brothers and sisters around the world to bring this shame on our Nuer people to an end. Nuer people are now living at UNIMISS Camps across Country. This is not only a shameful deed to the entire Nuer Community at the presence but will hurt down the future generation of Nuer people.
Third, as a reminder, I do not want to bore you to read the lengthy characteristic of who I am and what I have done since 2005 to presence of South Sudan’ political problem solving. My action on the issues concerning South Sudanese is known to the core.
