Canada: SPLM/SPLA Condemns Parliament For Rewarding Salva Kiir With 3 Years Term Extension!
March 24, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The SPLM/SPLA office of Representative in Canada objects and condemned in the strong terms possible the extension of President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s term in office for the next three (3) years until 9th of July 2018.
The SPLM/SPLA office in Canada is dismayed to learn that this unfortunate act was put to motion by the rubber stamp parliament in Juba, South Sudan on the 23rd of March 2015 without regard to the suffering of our people. So the SPLM/SPLA would like to inform the world that this motion is illegal because it violated the Interim Constitution of South Sudan.
Besides, it’s also imperative to note that this illegal act was imposed against the wills and the aspirations of the people of South Sudanese. President Salva Kiir Mayardit has lost legitimacy since December 15th, 2013 when he (Kiir) planned and ordered the murder of 20, 000 innocent South Sudanese civilians in cold-blood in Juba.
Hence, the SPLM/SPLA office in Canada strongly believe that the extension of this unlawful president to stays in office is a senseless confirmation of continued death and suffering of our people and this is not acceptable.
The SPLM/SPLA calls on all the peace loving nations, particularly the African Union’s nations, the IGAD’s member States, the European Union’s member States, the Troika’s member States, the United Nations and the United States of America to join us objects and condemn this unauthorized undertaking.
On the ground that our people need lasting peace and therefore we cannot afford the validation of the continued suffering of South Sudanese people unchallenged.
