March 25, 2015(Nyamilepedia) – In a declaration communiqué seen by Nyamilepedia Press, more than 40 members of Red Army Foundation (RAF) have denounced the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and switched allegiance to Dr. Riek Machar Teny, the former Vice President and the current chairman and commander-in-chief of SPLM/SPLA [IO].
“Our organization is officially joining the SPLM/IO under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny, a visionary and charismatic concern citizen with defined goals for the future of South Sudan and the entire region” part of the declaration reads.
The decision to defect was passed after intensive deliberations by members of RAF in many parts of the world.
More than forty members of Red Army Foundation attended a 3-hours long teleconference, three days ago, to decide their fates and that of their organization in the current conflict.
In their communiqué, members of RAF have accused the SPLM [Juba] Chairman, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, of violating and betraying the core values of their organization, which include national building, peace, unity and prosperity as enshrined and inspired by their late chairman, Dr. John Garang de Mabior.
The youth organization, which President Salva Kiir has utilized in the past two years to mobilize support, is falling apart as core members of RAF begin to believe that President Salva Kiir has turned tribal, cruel and negligence of national interests, values and sovereignty.
Members of RAF accuse President Salva Kiir of “ethnic cleansing”, as defined by the leaked reports of African Union, and demand that their chairman must face the International Criminal Court (ICC) to count for gross human rights violations and crimes against humanity that have been committed in the country since 2013.
The defecting members have further call on their colleagues in the foundation, youth and other South Sudanese within the country and abroad to stand up for their rights and freedoms in order to restore the country from ruins and destruction of lives and property.

Red Army Foundation Declaration:
An independent organisation that promote national identity, peace, unity, prosperity and national services:
“In the memory of our treasured citizens, indiscriminately and intentionally killed in Juba, and especially to our beloved comrade in struggle Dr. Thomas Lul Kuayien………….Rest in Eternity peace”
Loyalists and peace loving citizens of this great nation we are denouncing the government of the Republic of South Sudan under the fragile, and tribalist leadership of General Salva Kiir Mayardit.
Our organization is officially joining the SPLM/IO under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny, a visionary and charismatic concern citizen with defined goals for the future of South Sudan and the entire region.
After December 2013 premeditated ethnic genocide of the Nuer citizens and the marginalized people of South Sudan, the Red Army Foundation lost its image and vision toward national identity, peace, unity, prosperity and national services. Members of our historical organization became the executors of an egotistical schema which perpetrated the innermost vision of our institution.
Our deflection and support to the SPLM/IO became eminent, after the illegal use of our institution as a medium of propaganda by pro-government elements in Juba to promote hatred, revulsion and kept broaden division within our society. We are forced to take this comprehensive decision to split a symbolic and patriotic institution, to preserve the most valuable principles of our nation.
The government of Salva Kiir is utilizing all the available means to divide our people, by refusing all consensuses aimed at peaceful resolution to end the conflict. Despite, the death of thousands, displacement of millions and suffering of more than half of our population, the weak, incompetent and visionless leadership of Salva Kiir continues to hire mercenaries, militias, rebels and terrorists from the region, wasting our countless resources of our domestic treasury, to keeps in power a leader who obviously lack a demarcated agenda toward nation building and reconciliation.
At early age many children joined the SPLM/A, leaving behind their families stridden thousands of miles under horrendous conditions to reach the refugees camps, and training facilities set-up in neighboring countries.
Our main goal was to contribute to the liberation of our country, but our visionary leader, Dr John Garang de Mabior, prophesied our valuable contribution to the cause of our nation in others capacities rather than in the battle fields. Most of us, the founding members of Red Army, ended up in Cuba in pursuit of education, advance military skills and to prepare to lay the foundation of this great nation, which has claimed our forefathers and our bravest heroes and heroines.
Throughout our youth we enjoyed equal treatment and opportunities under a capable leadership, which projected a prosperous and successful future. Unfortunately the same leaders, who have contributed more or less to our development for the sake of our country, were overcome by greed of power and hatred among themselves; but instead of creating a conducive environment to solve their political differences, the incompetent tribal leaders, led by Salva Kiir, rushed to training a tribal militia and hiring foreigners to cleanse and exterminate one ethnic group, the Nuer.
SPLM/A under the leadership of our founding father, Cdr. John Garang de Mabior, who united, and allowed various channels for improvement, encouraged patriotism, comradeship, and loyalism.
As peace loving and idealistic leaders of today, our great desire to see freedom reign in our nation has always been our priority and aspiration. The Red Army was and is an exceptional driving force behind the success of political platforms within the SPLM structures, given the magnificent contribution of the Red Army during the liberation struggle. Our institution lost and sacrificed valuable lives in the frontline by providing primary services to our vulnerable people during the liberation period.
For all of these reasons, we the core members of the Red Army Foundation, listed below, have decided to say enough is enough. Our chairman, President Salva Kiir Kuethpiny, has lost the vision and direction that was laid before us by our late visionary and charismatic leader, Comrade Dr. John Garang de Mabioir. Salva Kiir has adamantly violated our ethics principles, the constitution of SPLM and the Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan. For these reasons he must be held accountable for the mess he has created, orchestrated, and proudly executed for our social fabric and our nation to be rebuilt.
In the doctrines of our foundation, which Salva Kiir has violated and betrayed, and for the Red Army to achieve the vision it was created for, our foundation must distance itself from Salva Kiir. Instead we must all stand in solidarity with the victims, SPLM cadres and other visionaries to demand justice, accountability, reconciliation, healing and a prosperous South Sudan.
In the spirit of camaraderie, the Red Army Foundation in Opposition is calling on all the Southern Sudanese youth in the diaspora and within the boundaries of our nation to join the resistance movement. Advocate and embrace the creation of a prospering Federal Democratic Republic of South Sudan, to hasten the national building process and equal sharing of our domestic resources.
To achieved our mission, “The RAF-IO must mobilize and orient Red Army members and youth in South Sudan, and all over the world for the service of the nation and society” Red Army foundation constitution, acts of 2003.
The corrupt government in juba shouldn’t be allowed to commit more atrocities and the immediate cessation of alliance to SPLM/A- Juba faction.
Our collective determinations to halt this cruel regime, the persistence fortitude to unify our people are our focal aims which must be achieved regardless of any adversity or cost.
“The spirit of a government must be that of the country. The form of a government must come from the makeup of the country. Government is nothing but the balance of the natural elements of a country”. Our America (1891)
