July 08, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– A major confrontation has ensued a few minutes ago at South Sudan’s Presidential palace (J1) between the presidential guards units.
Reports emerging from J1 confirmed that the two principles, President Salva Kiir, Dr. Riek Machar Teny and James Wani Igga were still in a meeting when the meeting begin.
President Kiir and the two Vice Presidents began meeting this afternoon to resolve a fight that occurred yesterday and also to deliberate on pending issues.
Latest reports confirm that the fight escalated to ministerial areas and hamarat. Similar fighting is reported at Juba Bridge and Gumbo.
Stay calm
South Sudan presidency has calmed for calm amid the ongoing fighting.
According to Dr. Riek Machar, who is together with Kiir and Wani, the situation will be restored and people remain calm.
“”All we want to tell our public now is that they should remain calm. This incident will be controlled and measures will be taken so that peace is restored even to the heart of the city itself… that’s why we are sitting togethre now, the three of us.” Machar said.
President Salva Kiir has also acknowledged the fighting while he is meeting Dr. Machar and Mr.Wani but said he is not aware of what is happening outside J1.

According to latest military sources, the situation has normalized and the heavily guarded First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar, was seen leaving J1 heading toward Jebel Kurjur.
