August 20th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan peace talks going on in the Sudanese capital Khartoum has been adjourned until next Saturday, the 25th August 2018, delegates told the Nyamilepedia on Sunday.

The short break is to give a room for the Eid Al-Adha Holiday which due to be commemorated this week starting from tomorrow.

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia on Sunday, David Lawrence Lual, a member of South Sudan Opposition Alliance delegates at the talks representing Lam Akol’s NDM and a member of the Alliance’s Security Sub-committee said talks has been “suspended until 25th of this month. ”

South Sudan government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) under the leadership of the country’s now once-again First Vice-president designate Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon signed a peace deal early this month.

Other South Sudanese armed and non-armed opposition groups including the South Sudan Opposition Alliance and the SPLM-FDs also signed the peace agreement despite an early rejection.

Some of the resolutions of the peace deal were left bracketed forcing the parties to remain in Khartoum to solve them.
