May 24, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — Briefing a congregation in Khartoum through phone in Nuer language from Juba, South Sudan, Dr. Riek Machar and Angelina Teny spoken in-depth but in summary these are the main points from Dr. Machar’s speech. This translation is nearly verbatim. For better suggestions or improvements, please leave your comments below or send me an email.

Begin the translation …..

1.We [ Dr. Machar and Mrs. Teny] were tested on April 27 for COVID-19 and the results turned out negative. We did not contract Coronavirus at the time.

2.Those who worked with us [The High-Level Task-Force] are many and they come from different institutions. Some of them are from Parliament [MPs] and most of them are ministers, so they meet with a lot of people at their various capacities.

3.On May 10th, we were told one of us from Parliament tested positive. He/she had COVID-19. I called my team and advised them that one of us has tested positive, he/she has COVID-19 and therefore we all need to go and be tested. I was just tested a while ago but I will come to be tested with you all.

4.On May 13, 2020, we were tested by doctors. On May 17, the Minister of Health and the Doctor, the second most senior in the ministry, came to my residence. They informed me that our results, Maan Teny and I, have turned out positive. I told them, alright, it’s God’s will. They advised me that our tests were ran three times to confirm if the results were true or false. All tests turned out that we [Maan Teny and I] have contracted the Coronavirus.

5.When I thought about it, I came to conclusion that no body knows God’s plans. I thought if we keep this to ourselves, what if it leads to death? Our people may think that it is a conspiracy that is done here [in Juba or J1]. I decided to call a Press Conference to inform the world that Mrs. Teny and I have tested positive to COVID-19. We shall isolate ourselves from the Public and stay home for 14 days until we are fully cleared by the doctors. Right now we are at home and we are doing well. We are healthy.

6.God knows what He is doing. The most difficult part with this virus is that when it gets into your system [lungs], it becomes very difficult to breathe. That did not happen to us. I only had headache for half an hour and fever for one hour only. Right now, all that is gone. Now that we have prayed together any little residue that might still be hanging around will also be gone.

7.People have been calling me and some of them have asked me: “where is Maan Teny?”. Sometimes, when she has gone to the kitchen, I tell them she has gone to kitchen because it’s like she has recovered- she has gone to kitchen to discharge some of her duties, the duties our women do. We are healthy. Me too, I’m healthy. Please tell our people not to panic. I have doctors, a lot of our people, especially our doctors in the United States have been calling our doctors here and direct them on best practices. I’m confidence nothing bad will happen, they have done their part. I’m healthy. With this prayer, God will hear us and we will meet in peace. I’m glad we have prayed today. Inform our people that I’m healthy.

8.When the time [14 days] that has been agreed upon by the doctors comes, they will come to test us again, just like two doctors whom I trust a lot came to visit us today, together with our doctors from the US – they have tested it. They tested blood samples to determine how best they can help. Please inform our people, we are doing okay, I’m healthy and maan Teny is also healthy. We will leave the rest to God.

9.In addition, I’m confident that the military that is being trained will be graduated in one month. South Sudan will soon have one army. Those who have not been trained will also be trained. It is true that within this month or by the end of the month, the army should be graduated. Because we are left with 14 days to graduate the forces, there might be 7 days delay. All our leaders are at work to ensure that South Sudan shall have one army. Don’t panic or worry, we are okay!

10.I’m not hiding anything, I can’t keep you in the dark over a serious illness like this. This is a global pandemic but it heals within 14 days!

Religion And Rebellion, The New Synonyms In South Sudan!

May 26, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — While some government officials can tolerate defamatory remarks from Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, they can’t tolerate some prayers from the country’s religious leaders. Juba officials reportedly turned against the religious leaders, who are working hard to restore peace in the country, in an attempt to publicly defame their spiritual mission.

Makuei Lueth, the minister of information, believes that the religious leaders have been supporting Machar, and now they are rebels by virtue of their prayers, especially the supposedly influential prayers that were offered during the ceasefire agreement between Machar and Kiir in Addis Ababa.

The religious leaders prayed hard between Dr. Machar and Salva Kiir in Addis Ababa for the two leaders to sign an agreement and bring peace to the suffering population back home and in the neighboring countries. Kiir returned to Juba later, leaving Machar in Addis Ababa, to announce that he was threatened to sign the agreement. At least, Mayardiit took heart to spare the religious leaders but not the Ethiopian premier, Mr. Hailemariam Dessalegn.

However, that didn’t settle well with the country’s minister of information, lawyer Michael Makuei Lueth, who spared to describe the Ethiopian Prime Minister as a rebel, at least this time. Instead Makuei was quick to realize that the rebels are, in fact, the priests and archbishops, who prayed to reconcile Machar and Kiir. Makuei believes that they are rebels because their behaviors are rebellious, which he put as “they behave like rebels”.

Makuei did not elaborate how religious rebels behaves, however, president Salva Kiir physically demonstrated it in front of the regional leaders. As if that wasn’t enough, the president forcefully demanded that “he MUST always remain the leader of that country”. On his return to Juba Kiir attempted to justify how he must remain the president of that country by announcing unbinding adjournment of the  2015 election, as he would please. However, the president later felt short of ideas and started accusing another group of rebels, the United States government officials, for forcing the South Sudanese president into such temptation. Other rebels in the regions, the IGAD members that include Kenyatta and Museveni, were not pleased by Kiir’s unilateral decision. They had to force our president to swallow his bitter words. Today, Salva Kiir the president is left with no words but to just watch Machar does his regional campaign.

That campaign interest many rebels in Juba city, including the country’s vice president, Wani Igga who is also competing with Machar on federalism. Perhaps, only God knows what would happen next, maybe more peace but not defections.

Makuei, a former SPLA/M rebel, has reported labelled the UN, US, media and any other South Sudanese as rebels. Those who disagree with the Juba government deserve the trademark, Makuei would argue. Saddly, all South Sudanese were and are rebels. The main difference is that there are rebels in the bush, some in hotels in Ethiopia, others in diaspora, other exist virtually online while others enjoy foreign troops protection on the street of Juba, the capital.

Although the term is losing its dictionary meaning, the religious leaders did not tolerate the dark painting on their collars. According to Sudan Tribune the leaders have anonymously conveyed their disappointments with the remarks.

“We are disappointed by these unfounded remarks. We have not joined either side in the conflict. However, as humans and citizens of this country and in the course of bridging the gaps between the parties we have the obligation to express what we think is right to bring back peace to this beloved country of ours,” said the spiritual leader on condition of anonymity.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul of the Episcopal Church of Sudan, who led the prayers between Machar and Kiir is a dinka from the same section as Makuei, collectively referred as Dinka Bor.

Archbishop Bul has been tasked by Salva Kiir with a number of reconciliations and peace talks including the National Peace and Reconciliation in the past. The Nation Peace and Reconciliation, which was organized by Dr. Riek Machar before May 2013, has however collapsed.

Although Bul “was {also} accused by the Murle community of allegedly siding with the Dinka Bor” in the past, he has been calling on both the government and the anti-government sides to restore peace in the country.

South Sudan government officials, including Ayendit, Salva Kiir’s first lady and and the country’s vice president, Wanni Igga seeks prayers and other spiritual helps from Nigeria’s multimillionaire televangelist, phophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN).  The demoted vice president, Wanni Igga, was showcased in a you tube video in March, busy on his knees, while being prayed for by Prophet T.B. Joshua, the man of God from Nigeria, in an attempt to revert Ngundeng Bong’s widely resided prophesies.

On his return to Juba, Igga proudly reported that “the rebels have prophet Ngundeng on their side, now we have T.B Joshua on ours”. But to Makuei there is more to that. The priests and pastors are also rebels. However, the officials seemingly override the notorious spiritual leader, Dak Kueth, who blesses the white army at front line, a real threat to government that only counts his massive victories against the combined governments troops!
