April 6, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Latest reports from South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State confirmed to Nyamilpedia Press that a Brigadier General and a senior official of South Sudan’s SPLM-DC has defected the government of Salva Kiir and joined the armed opposition, under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny, the country’s former vice president.

According to official from Aweil, Cde Diing Garang Diing, who has once defected and fought Salva Kiir government, has left to bush over the Easter Weekend and joined arms with Maj. Ge, Dau Aturjong, who commands thousands of troops, mostly from Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

Latest reports from undisclosed location in Northern Barh el Ghazal State alleged that Brig. Gen. Ding Garang has defected with over 200 troops from Aweil, the home town of Gen. Paul Malong Awan, the Chief of General Staff for the government troops.

The defection of Brig. Gen. Diing, has been reiterated by the officials of the opposition in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“Instead of going to Addis [Ababa] to meet the leadership, Diing with other 200 armed youths went directly and joined Major General Dau Aturjong in the bushes of Northern Bahr el Ghazal,” Dr. Dhieu Mathok the Chairman of Committee for External Relations for the opposition confirms.

Cde Diing joined the SPLM-DC in 2008 and established a chapter, which he led in his home town of Aweil, the Capital of Northern Barh el Ghazal, until last week.

Diing was arrested in 2010 by the state government of Gen. Paul Malong Awan, who won a controversial election for the governorship of the state that year.

After his release, Diing went to bush and fought under the leadership of late Maj. Gen. George Athor, who later met his death in the neighboring Uganda.

Ge. Diing as part of the SSDM forces that accepted an amnesty after the death of Maj. Gen. Athor in 2012 joined the government of Salva Kiir and returned to his SPLM-DC office in Aweil.

Fifteen months into the conflict, South Sudan remains one of the most volatile nations with military campaigns, inter-communal violence, and gross human rights violations in nearly all its ten states.

Within the last one week, major feuds and defections have been reported in Upper Nile, Lake, Central Equatoria and Warrap, the home town of President Salva Kiir.

Tension remains high between the Dinka Padang and Chollo(Shilluk) in Upper Nile State, and similarly between Apuk Giir Thiik and Aguok sub-tribes of Dinka Community in Warrap state.

The South Sudanese eagerly await a possible peace deal from the neighboring Ethiopia, brokered by the regional bloc (IGAD) and members of the international community, which comprise of AU, EU, U.S, UK, Norway and the United Nations.

Although the government of Salva Kiir prefers to limit the peace mediation to be brokered by the eight members of IGAD, South Sudanese, the region and the international community have stressed the need to expedite the process to end the suffering and violence in South Sudan and the region.

I agreed with Deng. I would add that Brig.Gen Diing still biter with Malong. However Brig.Gen Diing, don’t join Riek, creating your own movement and name it. Why joining serial Killer or Ebola?

The war in South Sudan is not a tribal war. It is a war that will bring democracy and rule of law in South Sudan.
Liberia for instance, fought a fourteen year civil war and became the first country in Africa to elect a female president. And having rule for two consecutive terms, she is expected to leave office in 2017 for someone else who is expected to win the next election.
This is what is absent in South Sudan. And this fighting will restore that hope for every South Sudanese who wants to be a president or a legislator.
Unlike Uganda where Mussevini will rule for life and end up giving power to his sons, you will be able to vote for your leaders. And you will get the benefits of what you are fighting for which is Democracy.

Democracy will surely be won in South Sudan through fighting. My only advice to the rebels is not to be like Charles Taylor who succeeded in giving democracy to Liberia through rebellion and later decided to impose it on countries bordering Liberia: Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast.
Today, he is jail for fifty years for what his
    fingers did in Sierra Leone.
They could not win the war in Sierra Leone. And resorted to amputations of innocent civilians.
Today Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory coast are enjoying the fruits of democracy while he is jail for fifty years.

By who? By Riek? Riek cannot win any things. He can produces ideas, but he doesn’t know how to implement it.

when I hear Of gov’t defection to rebel,I laught at them, because they are the better who said that “Dr.Riek Machar have done coup attempt(Rebel against his boss) “______I counted malaak Ayuen in Opposition because there is no dollars in Juba now ..
hahahahaha let IGAD extend the talks and you will see new faces in the bushes of south Sudan, but our movement is for liberation of self determination and justice to prevail in the country….. if you want to joint Bush because there is no dollars, just stay because we don’t have dollars in Bush. unless you are committed to liberated your people, that’s what will make you succeed..
Many people wonder why Machar and his groups are calling for removed Of kiir,
one, Kiir has killed thousands of civiances who are not in SPLM party.
second,he just kills for the issues of power to which, it was not the cause of SPLM council
third, hiring Uganda to fights his own citizens,
is that the leadership we are dreamimg for?????
so, to make my point clear, we just need peace in absent of.Kiir please if you want our country to be free from :sanctions, removed from the list of poor countries in the world as it was announced in 2013 by world banks, to ne the member of really UN council…to participate in human rights campaign throughout the world……… unless you follow philosophy Machar for our country to be liberated from all this mess….
