Quot: The lord is known by His justice, the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. The wicked return to their grave, all the nations that forget God. But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. Psalms 9: 16-18
June 09, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — We the Equatorians worldwide are very much concerned about what is happening in the two Mundri Counties, of Western Equatoria State. We have been following these events as it unfolds since; those unruly cattle herders invaded the Greater Equatoria in the 1990s.
When the incident of 1991 occurred in Jongole, and the Dinkas were displaced from their area, No community had wanted to host them due to their unruly, aggressively uncivilized and above all ungodly behavior. However, after the intervention of their Bishop, the Moru community welcomed them as their brothers who were in need of help. But only after few months, they showed their true color and the spirit of colonizing the Moru people started since then.
Cattle keepers begun taking over land and causing insecurity by not allowing locals to go for hunting, collecting honey and lulu oil. They also, deliberately drove their cattle to graze in the farms of the locals. The cattle keepers had never been friendly to the host community and were heavily armed and aggressive all the time.
The people of Greater Equatoria whose land was invaded by the most primitive animals, ever created on earth, can testify to that. For instance, if you come as a guest or as a friend, you were supposed not to be armed in the first place. Now if we are to ask, why should these scoundrels arm themselves to the teeth if they are really coming to stay with their brothers? And why are they aggressive? Is it because they are in power and well armed?”
It is obvious that individuals within the government had armed the cattle camps. For the same issue is repeating itself over and over again in Juba County and in Nimule, Magui County by the same Dinkas, why? We hold the regime in Juba responsible for this, because they allowed certain Dinka Commanders within the SPLA to do this thing.
Finally, both communities agreed that the Dinka should return home with their cattle by April 2004, but “no progress” had been made. A local chief, Sosten Makako, commented: “It is unfortunate that we are talking about cattle movement over and over again. We have held several meetings and workshops in regard to the repatriation of the Dinka cattle, to no good results.
Orders were given and trodden underfoot. For example, the community task force investigating the conflict reported that tensions were high, because of the constant attacks, invasions of the local villages, looting properties, raping women, beating people and “committing all kinds of atrocities”, by the IDPs.
Finally, in 2005, local Youth known as “Nyrango” drove them out by force. Again in 2011they came back, this time Dinkas from Lakes also came in large numbers and exhibited the same behavior. Again, area youth have organized themselves to dismantle their camps by force and the last badge left less than three weeks ago.
What sparked the current crisis?
An incident occurred at a place called Bara about 45 miles from Mundri to Yeri where unruly SPLA soldiers coming from Rumbek opened fire on two brothers going the opposite direction killing one of them. That incident happened some two or three days before the killing of the Executive Director.
On Friday, May 22 the County Commissioner and the Executive Director, along with some security personnel including the SPLA forces, went to Mundri and Maridi junction known as Okari to investigate the murder of two soldiers and their surviving colleague.
While the Executive Director was talking to the injured soldier, shots were fired and the Executive Director was killed instantly. The Regime in Juba claimed that it was the work of the so called rebels! The question is how could rebels kill unarmed civilian while he was surrounded by armed security personnel? Our conclusion is that, it is the same unruly marauding and indiscipline SPLA militia who killed Mr. John Kleopas the Executive Director.
On their way back to Mundri, the SPLA militia started shooting at random in the air until they reached Mundri town, where they went on rampage killing and looting the innocent civilians. This is where the youth decided to act swiftly to chase the looters to their barrack across the river. You can now judge as to who is the aggressor?
We the Equatorians are sick and tired of this rubbish behavior of the so called SPLA and their idiot commanders who live by the rule of barrel. It is time to stand up and call a spade a spade, before these maggots invade our flesh. At this juncture, we would like to make it clear to these bloody thirsty bugs that:-
First of all, Nyarango Youths are still there, and they will always be there, ready to protect not only the land of Greater Mundri from cattle herders, who are armed to the teeth with modern weaponry, who invaded and tried to occupy their land by force since the 1990s, but also Greater Equatoria as a whole. Let the illiterate, uneducated, primitive, inhuman and undisciplined SPLA commanders be reminded that the weapons they supply to the cattle camps were purchased for the defense of South Sudan, not ‘Mura’cattle camps.
Secondly, we would like to see to it that, all cattle camps in the Greater Mundri, Western Equatoria state and in the whole of Greater Equatoria, particularly Lobonok Payam, Juba County and Nimule Payam, Magui County have moved out as per the Presidential order as soon as possible.
Thirdly, any attempt by the beleaguered regime in Juba to attack farm protectors in Greater Mundri, will only spark off the ticking bomb that will chock the regime in Juba and lay it to rest in its long awaited tomb that the Nuer and the Shiluk been preparing for years. Make no mistake, an attack on Greater Mundri, is an attack on Greater Equatoria.
Finally, we would like to assure the people of Greater Equatoria worldwide that, whoever is contemplating of crashing the people of Greater Mundri as it was stated by the propaganda minister of the regime, will himself taste the anger and might of the people of this great land. It is sooner than later when we will poison their appetite for our land before turning it into a ‘jenge’ mass grave yard, God willing. Try and see.
