August 27, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) —Members of Phou community in Khartoum have conducted a meeting under the leadership of two counties, Ayod and Fangak, under the theme you can not kills us again in our own state, under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny, Chairman and the Commander-in-chief of SPLM/SPLA.
The meeting was attended by more than 500 participants. Phou community has condemned and disowned in the strongest term possible the defections of our Politicians and generals who have betrayed thousands who were massacred in Juba by the genocidal militias of Salva Kiir.
As a community, we met and discussed the status of those who have allegedly defected from SPLM/SPLA under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar and unanimously voted to declare to the public these betrayers who felt short of our collective interest and vision but instead aim to turn against the remnants of Salva Kiir massacres for their own selfish gain. We are calling upon our sons and daughters in uniforms and our intellectuals to never listen to cheap excusses from the following self-fish politicians and generals:
- Gabriel Gatwech Chan, Inspection general of SPLA, and deputy chief general of staff .
- Hon .Micheal Mario Dhuor
- Timothy Tot Chuol , Chairperson of Federalism
- Khor Mai Kuol
As a result of this meeting, we strongly condemned and disowned the three retired politicians and General Gatwech Chan, who are being manipulated with money by the same enemy of peace that has killed thousands of our children, women and elderly. We strongly rejected and condemned the call from those bribed politicians who gave baseless accusations during their press release.
Dr. Riek Machar has sent an envoy to these disgruntled elements to negotiate and also to enlighten the grassroots on the grievances but it turn out that the ego-eccentric politicians refused to listen to the community, and envoy as well. For these reasoins, we have decided to inform the entire Nuer community at home and in diaspora to condemn and disown those disgruntled politicians.
We the greater Pangak community are convinced that Gabriel Gatwech Chan was delegated by coup plotters to be their representative to facilitate their logistics from Juba but they have failed miserably. Greater Pangak commuinty fully support the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny and we will work hand in hand with other Nuer community members and South Sudanese as at large to ensure that these disgruntled politicians are isolated in our society because they lack moral principles to solve challenges other than just being warlords.
The politicians and their three generals have forgotten the painful and unforgettable memories of Dec 15/ 2013 where tens of thousands Nuer were massacred in Juba and more than two millions South Sudanese, mainly Nuer, remained residing in worse conditions ever in UNIMISS camps around the country and refugee camps in the neighboring countries.
As community, we are tired that our son, Gabriel Gatwech Chan (Tanggienya), can be used as a tool of destruction by any body and to make it worst, Gatwech always return to destroy and kill the people he should be protecting. As a senior person, we hoped that Gatwech has outgrown this bad behavior but we were wrong. However, we do appreciate the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar for sending us our son, Ambassador James Mawich Bichok, as his envoy to talk to Gabriel Tang and the community. This shows leadership that Machar’s leadership wants peaceful coexistence.
Lastly, Phou Community strongly appreciate our next president, Dr. Riek Machar for making a bold decision to sign the peace agreement. With confidence and enthusiasm, we congratulate our men and women in uniforms who have been protecting our land from the enemy and we want to assure you that we are behind you. Never allow Gabriel Gatwech Chan to kills us again like he did in the past.
Signed by Phou Community leadership in Khartoum, Sudan.
Micheal Mawich Deng | Chairman, Ayod County
Hassan Adam Garpan | Chairman, Fangak County
They said little knowledge is a disease. This is exactly what both Michael Mawic and Hassen Gatpan exhibited. Do these illiterate blind men know why we decided to part ways with Riek Machar? We are from free to form our own party or join any party. If you want to remain with Riek you are free. You cannot force others to follow Riek Machar.

You are right Mr. Kuac. The are blinded by their support to the corrupt and pretender Riek Machar. Let us read the agreement carefully what does it bring to the Nuer. Riek Machar even surrendered Jonglei to the GRSS. and all the lies he has been decieving people with have evaporated into thin air. Riek wanted only to be reinstated to his previous position. So those who think Riek has brought them good news are deceiving themselves. With this half baked peace the Nuer will eventually be killed again if they do not critically re-aphrase Riek Machar..
