August 21st 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Fierce fighting has erupted outside Bentiu, the Unity State capital this morning after a government continent left their trenches in Guit town to attack SPLA-IO hide out in Biel this morning, several sources told the Nyamilepedia.
The latest latest fighting is a blow to the permanent ceasefire agreement signed in late June by President Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
“There is a gunfire to the direction of Biel since the morning. I think the government troops have attacked the village which has been under the SPLA-IO all this time,” one resident of Guit town told the Nyamilepedia.
Another source told the Nyamilepedia that the attack was orchestrated by the SPLA Fourth Infantry Division Commander Lt Gen Mabior Lual and was executed by Gen. Riak Riek this morning.
“The attack was launched against the SPLA-IO by Maj Gen Riak Riek Ruaac and his IG Commissioner of Guit, Brig Gen Nyok Kiir Goch at 7:AM EAT. It was ordered by the 5th infantry division,” the source said on the condition of anonymity.
