September 16th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – An opposition official, of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (IO) has tendered his resignation to Chairman and Commander-In-Chief Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Col. Saied Awad Saied, Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM/A (IO) Youth League resigned on Sunday last week, citing that little attention has been paid to the challenges facing the youth in the main armed opposition group, SPLM -IO.

He also blamed the opposition faction for ignoring young people in participating in decision-making when it comes to settling the movement’s internal affairs.

He argued that young people in South Sudan make up 70% of the population, and for this reason, they deserve the highest representation in all sectors of government.

“The youth of South Sudan represents more 70% of the population which is the majority. We as youth can’t give up until we win this case & we will continue to stand & fight to make our dreams reality,” he said.

He further criticized South Sudan’s leaders for not giving young people a chance to determine their own future.
