September 25th 2019 (Nyamilepedia)-The Executive Director of the Relief Organization for South Sudan (ROSS),
Yien Thiang Luony has formally lodged a formal complaint against Angelina Teny, head of the SPLM/A-IO Committee for Security, over what he called a “commotion caused” by a planned visit to New York.

“Comrade Chairman, This morning I met with Comrade Henry Odwar about the trip to New York. After candid and friendly discussion, we have resolved that I will not go to New York as originally planned. That was my position after learning of the commotion it has created. There is nothing personal about going to New York, apart from disseminating peace, and to advocate for more humanitarian intervention for South Sudan. Specially now that we are emerging from war.”

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the main armed opposition group, Dr. Riek Machar, the SPLM/AIO’s delegate expressed dismay after the cancellation of his scheduled trip to UNGA 74th by the leadership of the Movement, and urged that trust is an essential element when it comes to politics.

“Comrade Chairman, I must admit I am writing to you with heavy-heart and disappointment. Apart from the Deputy Chair, the spin that was put around this trip by people who should have acted responsibly is disappointing to say the least. My loyalty to this Movement, as well as my capacity to represent its interest, shouldn’t have been question just because the NPTC nominated me for a mission. if NPTC cannot use us for the good of this country then, why do you sent us here? Comrade Chairman, in politics, trust and confidence is a valuable asset, If it is lost, it takes time to rebuilt,” he stated.

He strongly defended his appointment by the NPTC to represent South Sudan in the United General Assembly, saying it doesn’t imply changing allegiance to South Sudan government.

“Sir I must admit I am not comfortable with Cde Angelina’s role in my alleged defection. Cde Angelina shouldn’t be destroying things (reputations, comradeship, harmony..) she cannot replace. After six years of sacrifices, where am I defecting and in exchange for what? For going to New York? It defies any logical thinking,” he questioned.

Angelina Teny, is a senior member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement / Army -IO and the Chairperson of the SPLM-IO Security Committee and Defense.
