September 25th 2019 (Nyamilepedia)-The Organization for Responsive Governance (ORG) in conjunction with the South Sudan Civil Society Forum (SSCSF) is expected to host an interactive session on the status of the implementation of the revitalized Peace Agreement, signed in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
According to a joint statement dated 23 September, the group invited participants and government officials to attend a public information forum on the status of the implementation of the R-ARCSS, which will last for approximately three hours at the Juba Regency Hotel.
“Tomorrow 26 Sept we will host a public forum to assess progress being made in implementation of the R-ARCSS & critical obstacles.”
The high-level discussions are expected to focus on the progress of the peace deal, particularly challenges faced and critical tasks achieved so far since the signing of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
“Presentations from the National Pre- Transitional Committee and the Joint Defense Board; and subsequent plenary discussions will focus on the Transitional Security Arrangements, issues of the number and boundary of states and overall preparedness for November 12, the agreed date for commencement of the Transitional Period of the R-ARCSS.”
The forum will attract around 80 multi-stakeholder participants including legislators, security sector officials representatives of civil society, women, youth, chiefs and religious leaders.
