September 25th 2019 (Nyamilepedia)-The introduction of an electronic banking system in South Sudan, has deterred pickpockets and bag snatchers as people no longer hold their money in their pockets and bags but m-Gurush accounts, the first mobile banking group, m-Gurush, said on Wednesday.

In an exclusive interview with Nyamilepedia early today, m-GURUSH customer service said that before the launch of South Sudan’s first mobile banking service, there was rampant theft, pickpocketing, bag-snatching and other related crimes, but thanks to the introduction of m-GURUSH, the level of these crimes has reduced dramatically.

“m-Gurush is the first South Sudanese mobile money service provider that is enabling South Sudanese send, receive, pay bills for goods and services in the country. In South Sudan, we have been experiencing cases of our people losing money or their money being stolen, particularly when they’re spotted carrying money [in their pockets] but through m-Gurush one is able to keep his or her money in any type of phone.”

Launched on 14 July 2019, m -GURUSH is South Sudan’s first leading banking service offering a fast and secure money transfer platform across the country.
