Feb 19, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The disgruntled military spokesman of SPLM/SPLA [IO], Brigadier Lul Ruai Koang, has been received in Juba, one day after declaring defection and cease fire in the neighboring Kenya.
Lul defects the armed opposition after running into heated confrontations with his comrades that includes the son of SPLM/SPLA founder, Capt. Mabior Garang de Mabior, the chairman of National Committee for Information and Broadcasting.
Lul, who declares his defection yesterday at 2pm in Nairobi, Kenya, also calls on Greater Lou-Nuer white army to cease all hostilities with government forces and join him to demand a creation of a separate state that shall be called the Greater Akobo State.
By intent or default, the self-anointed rebel brigadier general was received by a royal rebel leader, David Yau Yau at Juba airport, South Sudan.
Although Yau Yau remains in Juba, hundreds of Murle have moved back home to Pibor earlier this month and declared allegiance to SPLM/SPLA in Opposition, under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar.
The former militia leader, David Yau Yau, has downplayed government persuasion to lead his community to war against Lou-Nuer, however, he remains in Juba to persuade the regime to implement the programs of GPAA, which are yet to be achieved.
Contrary, the young Brigadier General, who has been received by the right hands of Yau-Yau, is coming to Juba to demand a separate state, similar to Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
The loud brigadier general, who arrived in Juba two hours ago, is yet to speak to the media. Before leaving Nairobi, Lul assures the media that he will negotiate with the Government within Juba under the banner of South Sudan Resistance Movement to resolve his grievances.
His calls on Lou-Nuer to follow him, however, have been rejected by Greater Lou-Nuer across the Globe, which limits his chances of negotiating with Juba within Juba.
The three united commissioners of Greater Lou-Nuer have rejected the calls of Mr. Lul and declare him as an “opportunist”, who pursuits personal interests rather than National calls.
“There comes a time that national interest becomes a priority to that of an individual.” Gen. Koang Rambang, the commissioner of Akobo quotes Prof. George Saitoti.
“On behalf of the three Commissioners, Cde Simon Hoth Duol, Cde Wany Juet Jok and I, wish to assure the entire Lou Nuer Citizens across the globe that we remain committed to the course of our movement under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny.” Koang declares.
SPLM-IO has also calls on their supporters to calm down and treat Mr. Lul’s defection as desertion that has no impacts on political and military agenda of SPLM/SPLA in Opposition.
The Deputy Chief of General Staffs for Logistics SPLA [IO], Maj Gen. Gathoth Gatkuoth, has arrived at Addis Ababa and made a press briefing today at 4pm [Ethiopian time] at Desalegn Hotel on behalves of SPLA [IO] forces.
Details on the full press briefings will follow shortly!
