So You Are Not A Fool? – A Respond To Gordon Buay’s “Nuer-Terrorist” Article.
By Tor Madira Machier,
April 11, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — One may fails to understand the concept of the so call “terrorism” act and thus be a victim of a wrong assumption of reality. My brother, Gordon Buay who is struggling to take the advantage of the current conflict in South Sudan for the aim of gaining popularity wrote an article on Sudan Tribune website titled; “the rebels should look for another leader” ( please follow this link: http://www.sudantribune.com/spip.php?article54547 ) urging the SPLM/A-in opposition whom he refereed to therein as “Nuer-terrorist” to chose another leader beside Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
First, and before I go deep, the meaning of the word terrorism is the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear, and not related to the uses of the armed resistance against a government whose primary agenda is based on the annihilation of a section of its civil population.
Less than four years from now, Gordon Buay was an outspoken critic of the government of South Sudan in general as well as a personal enemy of president Salva Kiir himself. However, things changed. Economic criteria derived gordon Buay to where he did even not expect to be. Being a vocal supporter of president kiir, many may agree with me to wonder that if this gentleman really understands what he always author in every news scene.
In every movement struggling to change the status quo, there must to be setbacks which are tolerable to those who are the members of that movement, however, the propaganda being masterminded by the supporters of the regime in Juba do not make sense and has no any prospect of reality in them. The purported frustration within the rebel camps and those lies aiming at demoralizing the supporters of the movement has no any related claims making them to be mere day-light dreams. I don’t think that there is a government in South Sudan.
President Salva Kiir Mayardiit has an extra-ordinary burden that if he fails to subdue will compel a critical setbacks in his government. All the unfortunate propaganda which are manned by his supporters and Buay for example are all accountable to president Salva Kiir’s government and not to those purporting them. Buay is just like a condom, which is used for a limited time and then thrown away later. Buay’s political orphanage is a political calamity to president Salva Kiir and Kiir must bear in mine that accommodation of such personalities always further tarnishes the image of president.
The reason why I wonder whether Buay understands his writing is that he always denies the reality which he has already foresaw. In his Wednesday article which he published on Sudan Tribune, he quoted Dr. John Garang as saying: I will topple the khartoum’s based regime in two years, however, for Dr. Garang just to achieve the CPA, it took him more than two decades to win the battle of Naivasha ( CPA ). This is indeed a reality, but what is wrong with the rebel’s 2014 speedy match towards Juba? You should not consider the rebel’s retreat from Mangala as the end of the war. Losing a single or two battles does not means losing the war but simply a temporary victory for the government and nevertheless the SPLM/SPLA in opposition which you referred to as “Nuer-terrorists” remains the winner of the war atlas. What you have to do is that just eat your God-given food before dawn but always turn around and take care of what is going on at you back.
