Dec 30, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) —- Ghetto musician Master Blaster alias Teacher, who becomes during in Kampala bars and night clubs for his dancehall song ‘’Embooko’’ has been shot dead in a bar brawl in Bwaise, a city suburb. Master Blaster, whose real name is Cornelius Oloya who was in his early 30s was shot twice in the stomach during a scuffle, allegedly between a group of Ugandans and South Sudanese party-goers at Eden Service Park, a pub in Bwaise on Nabweru Road. The show was organized by South Sudanese local artistes including Michael Pal Riek and all South Sudanese people were especially the ‘’Naath’’(Nuer) Community in Uganda’s members.
I, Hon. Ter Manyang Gatwech, was there in the show on 28th December 2015, I left the venue at 4:45am. The shooting of local artist started at 6: oo a.m according to New Vision daily news paper in Uganda. He had just released his new song, ‘’Ekibala(fruit) which had also become popular in bars in Kampala-Uganda. Police sources revealed that a group of South Sudanese nationals blocked locals from the concert hall the pub because their annual concert. This allegedly angered some youth who wanted to join in the merrymaking. According to Eddie Ssejjoba, a Ugandan Report from New Vision Daily Paper, ‘fellow musicians and eye witnesses said the scuffle that started at about midnight on Tuesday went on till morning. The shooting is alleged to have occurred at about 6:00am when the Police came to intervene in the row.
The pub management had been forced to lock the visiting group inside the hall, until day- break to avoid further clashes and protect them. They said when management opened the gates later; the South Sudanese met their rivals still waiting outside, with the Police trying to calm the situation to give safe passage to the visitors. There were conflicting accounts on who shot the artiste, with some accusing the South Sudanese people. Some sources suggested that in an attempt to give protection to South Sudanese people during the shows, Policemen started shooting and one of them shot at Master Blaster, who was standing a few metres away from the scene. The bullet holes were still visible in a Mobile Money kiosk across the road. Other accounts indicated that Master Blaster had earlier attempt to gain access to the venue to see whether he would be allowed to perform for the group, but he was denied access. Howe eve, the Kawmpe Division Police Commander, Hashim Kasinga told Nyamiledia that went the police shot in the air to scare the local group, one of the youth grabbed a policeman. In the process, a stray bullet shot Master Blaster dead. Bosco Nsingwangabo, an eye witness, said Master Blaster was shot in the stomach and fell by the roadside, where he lay in a pool of blood for some time. The police later took him to Mulago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead two hours later. Kasinga ordered for the temporally closer of the bar, to allow the police carry out further investigations and the management for failure to provide enough securiety. However, later in the afternoon, the police used live bullets in running buttes with musicians and Bwaise resident who wanted to avenge Master Blaster’s dead by lynching any South Sudanese in sight.
South Sudanese people who are stays in Kawempe, Bwaise, Makerere Kikoni, Kizto are still indoors. The Chairman of Nuer Community in Kampala-Uganda still in Kawempe Police station because his house was been break down by Ugandans citizens. The big question is what about South Sudan Embassy in Uganda is doing what? I think South Sudan Embassy need big change so that South Sundaes people can get enough protection. A former Gawaar-Nuer Community’s political advisor, Mr. Jal Duop Yang and calls me in the afternoon say that their home was attacked by Ugandan in Kawempe Muslims and they routed all the attackers. All South Sudanese who are stays in those areas are still indoors until further notice according to Jal Duop Yang.
The people who works with South Sudan Embassy should be removed all because they don’t give any single protection to the people of South Sudan who are stays in Kampala. What is the work of Embassy? The main function of an Embassy is to protect its citizens from dangers things. The Ambassador of South Sudan Embassy in Uganda should talk to Inspector General of Police (IGP) in order to deployed more Policemen in Kawempe, Bwaise, Makerere Kikoni and Kizto so that South Sudanese should come out from homes to make shopping. Otherwise if the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM-IO) does not intervene the situation will become very most terrible for the people in those areas. One of the girl who came from the Kiryandongo District (Bweyale) identify herself as Linge Bith and Ugandans are become ‘’dust and ashes’’ on the Roads on South Sudanese.
Public Warring, South Sudanese people should be careful in Kampala and the troops of Uganda who have been taken to South Sudan by President Salva Kiir become very big calamities to South Sudanese now in Uganda. Their troops have been killed by Dr. Riek Machar Teny’s forces in 2013 up to dates in South Sudan crisis.
The Uganda General Elections will take place on 18th February 2016 and all our people should have what we called personal management. The heads different communities should awareness their people about the elections in Uganda 2016 and President Mseveni is likely lost these elections to the opposition according to insiders in Uganda.
